Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services seeks a Director of Advocacy to lead high-impact legal services and systemic reform efforts. You will supervise managing attorneys, guide litigation strategy, and develop innovative service delivery methods to meet client needs in low-income communities.

You will partner with the Executive Director to set priorities, ensure quality control, and oversee training, staffing, and program development in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with bar admission in PA or eligibility.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal practice experience in poverty or public interest law.
• Proven supervisory leadership and staff development ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and long-range planning for the advocacy program.
• Oversee litigation strategy, case reviews, and legal practice standards.
• Lead staff development, supervision, and evaluations across advocacy teams.
• Manage intern and extern programs with robust supervision and mentoring.
• Engage with courts, bar associations, universities, and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements, ethics, and reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
