Job summary

Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) seeks a visionary Vice President for Advancement to lead strategic fundraising and donor stewardship from Aspen to national and international boards. The role manages a six‑person development team and drives gifts to support AMFS’s artistic mission and growth.

The VP will oversee major campaigns, including Aspen Promise, while collaborating with the CEO and Board to achieve ambitious philanthropic goals.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraising professional who combines a love of music and music education with a deep respect for philanthropy and a track record of success in achieving and exceeding significant goals for annual fund, endowment, capital, and special projects fundraising.
• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience closing major seven‑figure gifts.
• Experience working with a national and/or international board and donor base will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans to support AMFS's artistic mission, growth, and donor engagement.
• Achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals for contributed income from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
• Recruit, supervise, and motivate the development team and ensure proper stewardship of all gifts.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Board to cultivate and solicit major gifts and manage donor relations.
• Travel as needed to engage current and prospective donors and represent AMFS in the Aspen community and beyond.
