Job summary

Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, seeks an experienced advancement leader to serve as Vice President for Institutional Advancement. You will lead major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, grants, alumni engagement, and campaign strategy, partnering with the President, Cabinet, and Board to advance the University’s priorities.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in higher-education fundraising, a proven track record in major gifts, and strong leadership, collaboration, and donor-centered

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of advancement or development leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
• Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts, including seven-figure gifts.
• Experience preparing for and leading capital or comprehensive campaigns.
• Expertise in planned and legacy giving and building a robust gift pipeline.
• Demonstrated ability to build fundraising programs, teams, and accountability structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive donor-centered advancement program including major/principal gifts, annual giving, planned giving, grants, alumni engagement, stewardship, and campaign strategy.
• Maintain an active portfolio of high-potential donors and prospects with qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Partner with the President on principal gift strategy, donor visits, and board engagement.
• Develop a strategic pipeline to increase unrestricted support and grow the endowment.
• Communicate progress, opportunities, and risks to the President, Cabinet, and Board.
