Job summary

Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati seeks a visionary Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) to serve as the institution’s chief advancement officer.

You will lead fundraising, alumni engagement, donor relations, and campaign planning, directing an high-performing team to secure transformational gifts. You will partner closely with the President and Board of Trustees to set strategy, manage portfolios of major donors, and ensure accountability across advancement operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of seven to ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience in institutional advancement, philanthropy, or nonprofit fundraising.
• Demonstrated record of personally cultivating, soliciting, and closing major and principal gifts, including seven‑figure or transformational philanthropic investments.
• Experience with advancement technology, donor databases, fundraising analytics, and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the University’s chief advancement officer, overseeing fundraising, alumni engagement, donor relations, advancement operations, and campaign initiatives.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward the highest-capacity gifts while partnering with the President and leadership.
• Build organizational capacity, systems, and accountability to support sustained fundraising growth and a comprehensive campaign.
• Provide strategic leadership across programs including Annual Giving, Leadership and Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Government Grants, and Donor Stewardship.
