Qualifications

• MD or DO, board certified in General Surgery.
• Board certified in Surgical Critical Care.

• Established leadership experience in Acute Care Surgery within an academic medical center.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
• Lead in collaboration with Anesthesiology and other teams.
• Engage in active teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and students.

Job description

The Department of Surgery at NYU Langone Health is seeking a dynamic, full-time accomplished, academic surgeon-leader to serve as Chief, Acute Care Surgery at its Manhattan campus. This position provides clinical and administrative leadership for Emergency General Surgery (EGS) and Surgical Critical Care , at one of the nation's leading quaternary referral centers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and technical skills, have exceptional outcomes, and take a collaborative approach to patient care. The selected candidate must be collaborative and be able to interact well with colleagues inside and outside the division. Note: the Manhattan campus is not a designated trauma center.
