Job summary

Ohio University is seeking an Executive Vice President and Provost to serve as the university's chief academic officer, reporting to the President. This senior leader will shape academic strategy, stewardship of budgets, and academic affairs across the institution.

The EVPP partners with faculty governance, advances student success, and strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration while guiding Ohio University toward its R1 aspirations and regional impact.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree and record of scholarly achievement appropriate for appointment as a full professor.
• Significant academic leadership experience (e.g., dean or above).
• Successful examples of curricular innovation, change management, revenue growth, and relationship management with partners and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success managing complex organizations, budgets, and change initiatives.
• Strong commitment to student success, shared governance, and academic excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of academic priorities aligned with the University's strategic plan.
• Oversee the academic portfolio, ensuring program quality, relevance, and sustainability.
• Advance interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across colleges and campuses.
• Maintain and strengthen Ohio University's standing as an R1 research institution.
• Partner effectively within a unionized faculty environment and governance structures.
