Job summary

Pepper Construction Group LLC is seeking a qualified student for the 2027 Summer Project Engineer Intern position in the Chicagoland area. You will work with a Project Manager and/or Superintendent, gaining exposure to submittals, take-offs, budgets, and owner meetings while participating in training sessions and site tours.

The 12-week internship runs from Memorial Day to mid-August, with opportunities to learn through hands-on, real-life field and office experiences in a team-oriented

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program and pursuing hands-on project exposure.
• Strong communication (verbal & written) and collaborative skills for a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools, and support Project Manager/superintendent with field and office tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with submittals processing and take-offs.
• Support budget preparation and participate in jobsite/owner meetings.
• Engage in intern project competition simulating bidding and contracting processes.
• Learn from project teams through training sessions and site tours.
