Job summary

StepStone is seeking an Associate/Sr. Associate for its Real Estate Investment Team in Chicago.

The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and executing real estate investments across geographies and asset classes, with opportunity to present recommendations to the Real Estate Investment Committee. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in real estate private equity/credit or related fields, a BA/BS in a relevant area, and strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
Strong analytical capabilities with quantitative/modeling skills.
Experience in real estate private equity/credit, investment banking, or related real estate finance.
Demonstrates maturity, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Identify, source, and evaluate acquisition opportunities across real estate asset classes and geographies.
Lead underwriting and due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
Perform financial modeling and sensitivity analysis for investments.
Prepare for and participate in meetings with managers and investors and conduct ongoing due diligence.
Draft investment memoranda and presentations for acquisition opportunities.
Assist with asset management and investor reporting for existing investments.
Support fundraising with materials and historical fund performance analysis.
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, and financial partners.
