Lawyers for Justice, P.C.® in Chicago seeks a Senior Attorney to lead an active wage-and-hour, class, and representative action docket against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies.

The role includes developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, leading settlements, appearing in court, and mentoring junior attorneys to achieve strong client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois or pending admission to the Illinois Bar.
• 8+ years of experience in civil litigation including discovery, oral advocacy, and court appearances.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour matters is a plus.
• Must be able to travel on occasion.

Description

The Senior Attorney will manage and lead an active caseload of state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies, while also providing guidance and oversight to associate attorneys. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing case strategy; conducting and responding to complex discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing dispositive and class certification motions; leading settlement negotiations; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and mentoring junior attorneys on litigation best practices. Our agenda is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, highly experienced litigator with a strong track record in complex or class action litigation who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Illinois or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the Illinois Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Illinois and have minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.

License/Certification
