Job summary

Spiricare in New Jersey is seeking a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to support homecare and hospice patients in Essex County. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, focusing on safety, comfort, and daily living activities.

Minimum 1 year CHHA experience required; NJ CHHA license, valid driver’s license with auto insurance, and a clean driving record are essential. We offer competitive benefits and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care/services to residents under the direction of a licensed health care professional.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic medical tasks as appropriate.
• Maintain safety and infection control standards in the home care setting.
• Coordinate with medical staff and family to monitor patient well‑being and report changes.

We have a new opportunity for a Full-Time CHHA to work with our homecare and hospice patients in Essex County. This position pays between $19-$21/hr. Offering competitive benefits and flexible scheduling!

The CHHA Provides direct care/services to residents within the scope of duties, responsibilities and certification under the direction of a licensed health care professional.

Education/Training/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record

Skill(s):

• Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a home health aide
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance
• Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public.
• Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
