LSMNJ is hiring a Full-Time Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to support homecare and hospice patients in Essex County. The role pays between $19-$21/hr with competitive benefits and flexible scheduling. The CHHA delivers direct care under supervision of a licensed professional and adheres to safety and quality standards.

Candidates must have a NJ CHHA license, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license with reliable auto insurance. A clean driving record is preferred.

Qualifications

The CHHA Provides direct care/services to residents within the scope of duties, responsibilities and certification under the direction of a licensed health care professional.

Education/Training/Certifications

1. High school diploma or GED


2. Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey


3. Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance


4. Safe driving record

Skill(s)

1. Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a home health aide


2. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment


3. Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance


4. Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public.


5. Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.


6. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.


7. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.


8. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience

Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
