Job summary

BBA Afterschool Inc. in the Baltimore area is seeking energetic and reliable After-School Instructors to teach either Chess or STEM to elementary students within our enrichment programs.

This part-time, after-school role runs Monday–Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM with 1.5-hour sessions. Compensation is $37.50 per session ($25 per hour), and curriculum and equipment are provided. No weekends, no lesson planning required.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or teaching Chess, or experience with STEM subjects, is preferred but not required
• Comfortable working with children in grades K through 5
• Reliable transportation to schools throughout the Baltimore area
• Must successfully complete the required school district background check and fingerprinting process

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary students either Chess or STEM activities
• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and lesson plans
• Create a fun, safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Supervise groups of approximately 15 to 25 students
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and teamwork
• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership
