Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Technical skills and computer proficiency required.
• ASPAN or specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides total, comprehensive care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Performs initial assessments and reassessments per policy; ensures patient safety and quality of care.
• Reviews preoperative paperwork and ensures completion.
• Anticipates changes in clinical data and adjusts plan of care.
• Collaborates with patient and multidisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Prioritizes assignments and manages changing priorities.
• Delivers patient education as part of the plan of care.
• Performs effectively in emergencies and communicates care plans to team.
