American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Chemistry Technician (Junior - Mid-level) at the Bridgman, MI site to perform technical and specialized work in chemical analyses, instrument calibration, maintenance, and data reporting to maintain optimal system chemistry in a plant environment.

The role requires an Associate degree in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent), two years in the specialty with one year of related technical training, and successful completion of the TECH test.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent education or experience.
• Two years' experience in the respective specialty and 1 year of related technical training.
• Successful completion of the Plant Technician Selection System (TECH) test is required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform technical and specialized work activities, including analysis, instrument calibration, instrument maintenance, instrument troubleshooting, documentation and implementing corrective action for out of limits, and adversely trending data.
• Conduct special tests, sampling operations, and analyses in accordance with standardized chemical and radiochemical analyses, temperatures, pressures and flows to the required accuracy.
• Analyze data and calculate test results for reports and system chemistry, as needed based on analysis results, to maintain system chemistry in optimal conditions.
• Perform calibration checks and calibration procedures for laboratory instruments, radiochemical instruments, and in-line process analyzers and document all checks and procedures as required.
• Perform, or request (via plant work order process) preventive and corrective maintenance as needed.
