Job summary

Oberlin College Development is seeking Teaching Assistants for CHEM 101 lab sections for the Spring 2027 semester. Applicants should be pursuing a science major; preference for chemistry/biochemistry majors.

TAs will deepen their understanding of materials, build professional relationships with students, and develop teaching skills. Responsibilities include 5-8 hours per week, weekly TA meetings, timely grading, and assisting students in lab.

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled student at Oberlin College & Conservatory.
• Must have earned a passing grade in CHEM 101, or CHEM 102 if taken after placement test.

Responsibilities

• 5-8 hour/week commitment.
• Attend TA meetings once weekly.
• Grade laboratory assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist students in lab with relevant techniques and processes.
