Oberlin College’s Chemistry & Biochemistry Department is seeking Teaching Assistants for CHEM 102 lab sections for the Spring 2027 semester. Enrolled students who are pursuing science majors (chemistry/biochemistry preferred) will gain experience in teaching, grading, and helping peers in a lab setting.

Responsibilities include weekly TA meetings, grading, and assisting students with lab techniques. Additional paid tutoring may be available with instructor approval.

Qualifications

• Must be an enrolled Oberlin College student and pursuing a science major (chemistry/biochemistry preferred).
• Must have earned a passing grade in CHEM 102.
• Commitment of 5–8 hours per week.

Responsabilités

• Assist CHEM 102 lab sections under supervision; attend weekly TA meetings.
• Grade laboratory assignments in a timely manner.
• Help students in lab with techniques and processes.
• With instructor agreement, assist with tutoring sessions outside lab hours, paid separately.
