Job summary

The Ohio State University invites applications for an Instructional Aid Associate Specialist to support General Chemistry teaching laboratories and supervise student staff. You will prepare reagents, equipment, and spaces for experiments and oversee the Lab Support Window daily operations.

The role trains and directs student employees, maintains and troubleshoots lab equipment, performs chemical analysis and waste management, and helps develop new lab procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and leadership for the General Chemistry teaching laboratories.
• Prepare reagents, equipment, instruments, and laboratory spaces for scheduled experiments.
• Independently oversee the day-to-day operation of the General Chemistry Lab Support Window.
• Train and supervise student employees; troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation.
• Assist development, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of new laboratory experiments and procedures.
