Prolific is seeking Chemistry Experts and Chemical Engineers to join our Expert Network to help train and evaluate AI models using real-world chemical expertise. After a quick 10–15 minute test, you may be invited to join Prolific as a participant and be paid for AI tasks.

Researchers looking for your skills tend to pay up to $60 per hour. You must be prepared to complete paid tasks that require one hour of uninterrupted work, though many are shorter.

Qualifications

• Education: a BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related Physical Science.
• Professional Experience: laboratory research, industrial chemical processing, pharmaceutical R&D, or academic instruction.
• Technical mastery: organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms.
• Safety protocols: SDS, GHS, EPA/REACH/FDA requirements.
• Analytical precision: identify errors in IUPAC nomenclature, stoichiometry, geometry, and thermodynamics.
• Communication: explain reaction pathways or molecular interactions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated chemistry: review model responses for accuracy, structural integrity, and reasoning.
• Fact-check reactions & formulas: validate reactions, balance equations, and viable synthetic routes.
• Audit technical documentation: review lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral data (NMR, IR, Mass Spec).
• Annotate molecular data: correct errors in SMILES, 2D/3D representations, and property predictions.
• Safety monitoring: ensure outputs do not instruct on synthesizing hazardous or restricted substances.
