Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a chemistry faculty member to teach courses at multiple times and campuses in the Houston area. The instructor will develop syllabi, employ diverse teaching methods, and assess student progress to support student learning and success.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in chemistry-related fields and have a commitment to service and professional development within the college community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry or biochemistry or chemical engineering, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in chemistry.
• Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
• Commitment to student learning and service.

Responsibilities

• Teaches courses in Chemistry at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
• Develops and uses a syllabus for each course or laboratory within college and departmental guidelines.
• Plans, develops and uses a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learners.
• Evaluates students and informs them of progress in a timely manner.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
• Provides access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Performs professional development and institutional service as determined with the Dean.
