Job description

Location: 440 College Park Drive, Monroeville, PA 15146

Shift: Mon‑Fri, 8:00 am–5:00 pm (flexible start between 6:00 am–8:00 am, 8 hrs/day). No overtime expected.

Rate: $25 /hr (W2).

Job Title: Chemist II (Contract) – Photochromics Team, Monroeville Business and Technology Center.

The Chemist II will develop new products through formulation and testing. Work closely with formulators, chemists, and scientists to advance Transitions products.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and industry standards for formula mixing, sample preparation, and testing.
• Precisely measure and mix formula ingredients per formulation log.
• Prepare test specimens for various tests.
• Create a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Uphold safety standards, wear appropriate PPE, and follow safety guidelines.
• Document and report experimental details.
• Observe experimental details and external factors keenly.
• Manage time and work efficiently.
• Plan and execute all aspects of experiments independently, after discussing objectives with supervisor.
• Interpret data and provide recommendations for future work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in material science, chemistry, or related technical field.
• 0–1 year laboratory experience.
• Hands‑on experience with formulations and coatings (desired).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to track multiple project tasks.

Schedule & PPE

Mon‑Fri, 8 am–5 pm (flexible start 6–8 am). PPE, if required, will be supplied by the client.
