Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. is seeking a Chemist I for our Clackamas, OR site.

The role focuses on routine chemical analyses of dietary supplement materials using approved methods, with emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and compliance in a cGMP ISO environment. You will work with instrumentation including HPLC, HPTLC, UV-Vis, GC-FID, and ICP-MS, maintain records, and support investigations and method verifications while developing technical competency and ensuring ISO/IEC 17025

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Exposure to ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, cGMP, or other regulated environments preferred.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• A legal right to work in the United States.
• Must pass a drug screen and a background check per IFF standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chemical analyses of dietary supplement materials using approved analytical methods.
• Utilize instrumentation including HPLC, HPTLC, UV-Vis, GC-FID, and ICP-MS.
• Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and laboratory solutions in accordance with approved procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records to ensure data integrity.
• Assist with investigations of non-conformances and method verifications as assigned.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Participate in training activities and ongoing development of technical skills.
