By joining the Division of Environmental Program Support (DEPS), Inorganic Branch, Metals Section as a Chemist I in Franklin County, you will have theopportunity to work in helping DEPS meet programmatic monitoring and regulatory testing needs.

  • Performs routine preparation and analysis of various types of water, waste, soil, and tissue samples usingseveral different types of instrumentation.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a laboratory setting. Incumbent may be exposed to hazardous materials, substances, or compounds when performing chemical analysis, which may require utilization of safety measures. Field work may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
