Responsibilities

  • Requisition chemical materials from Receiving to the Shipping facility.
  • Plan and schedule customer order preparation to support on-time fulfillment.
  • Compound flavor, fragrance, and pheromone formulations according to SOPs and quality standards.
  • Safely handle and mix chemicals while following applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Label, fill, and package materials into approved containers in accordance with GHS standards and customer specifications.
  • Prepare bills of lading and verify quantities, destinations, and shipping information.
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, verify packing slips against purchase orders, and perform sampling.
  • Track shipments and prepare proof-of-delivery documentation when needed.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving records, databases, and routine reports.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and other loading/unloading equipment.
  • Follow all company SOPs, safety requirements, quality standards, and shipping schedules.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Chemical Technician – Shipping to join our team in Danbury, CT. This position supports daily production and order fulfillment through chemical replenishment, compounding, blending, mixing, dispensing, packaging, and shipping activities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on chemical manufacturing experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requisition chemical materials from Receiving to the Shipping facility.
  • Plan and schedule customer order preparation to support on-time fulfillment.
  • Compound flavor, fragrance, and pheromone formulations according to SOPs and quality standards.
  • Safely handle and mix chemicals while following applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Mix compounded products to ensure proper homogeneity and collect samples for QC inspection.
  • Label, fill, and package materials into approved containers in accordance with GHS standards and customer specifications.
  • Prepare bills of lading and verify quantities, destinations, and shipping information.
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, verify packing slips against purchase orders, and perform sampling.
  • Track shipments and prepare proof‑of‑delivery documentation when needed.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving records, databases, and routine reports.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and other loading/unloading equipment.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2–3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a directly related environment.
  • Previous Chemical Technician experience or hands‑on chemical manufacturing experience required.
  • Knowledge of standard chemical handling procedures and analytical techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate materials based on odor, appearance, and other quality parameters.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international commercial shipping methods and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow industry regulations and SOPs.
  • Ability to complete paperwork, calculate shipping costs, record data, and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer and data‑entry skills.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material‑handling equipment is preferred.
