  • The role is responsible for managing chemical inventory, fulfilling internal chemical requests, preparing and testing chemical batches, and ensuring proper waste management.
  • The position supports Manufacturing (MFG), Research & Development (R&D), and Engineering (EGN) departments and involves hands-on laboratory and chemical handling tasks.
Job Description:
  • The role is responsible for managing chemical inventory, fulfilling internal chemical requests, preparing and testing chemical batches, and ensuring proper waste management.
  • The position supports Manufacturing (MFG), Research & Development (R&D), and Engineering (EGN) departments and involves hands-on laboratory and chemical handling tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Inventory & Order Fulfillment
    • Maintain chemical inventory (receiving/outbound) with accurate logging.
    • Plan quarterly chemical needs for MFG; place orders for MFG and R&D.
    • Fulfill internal chemical requests from MFG, R&D, and EGN.
    • Identify and remove expired chemicals for third-party disposal.
  • Chemical Preparation & Lab Operations
    • Prepare chemicals per MFG demand and customer specifications (up to 6-liter flat batches).
    • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and production equipment.
    • Ensure equipment calibration and troubleshoot issues when needed.
    • Conduct chemical testing and ensure quality meets required specifications.
    • Label chemicals accurately, including SDS and hazard documentation.
  • Waste Management
    • Handle chemical waste according to safety protocols.
    • Manage timely waste transfer from tanks and satellite locations.
    • Participate in audits and maintain waste disposal documentation.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow established safety protocols for chemical handling and storage.
    • Wear PPE and maintain clean, safe working conditions.
    • Participate in safety training programs and internal audits.

Experience:
  • Experience handling a broad range of chemicals.
  • Familiarity with chemical inventory systems and waste disposal protocols.
  • Internship experience in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, or a lab environment is a plus.

  • Chemical inventory management
  • Lab chemical preparation and mixing using flasks and lab tools
  • Quality control and chemical testing
  • Waste classification and transfer pump operations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
  • Team collaboration and cross-functional communication
  • Willingness to relocate or work flexible hours when necessary
  • Experience with physical, organic, and general chemistry (no biochemistry required)

Education:
  • Bachelor's in Chemistry is required.
