Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Chemical Technician for our Samsung Semiconductor Taylor, Texas site. The role involves outdoor handling of chemical and gas tanks, hooking up supply lines, monitoring systems via HMI, and ensuring safe operation of large equipment.

Expect a safety-forward, physically demanding environment with daily walking and shifts that include days and nights. You will work with engineers and maintenance staff in a large industrial facility, performing inspections, leak checks,

Responsibilities

• Replace empty tanks with full ones.
• Hook up containers that supply chemicals to the factory machines.
• Ensure there are no leaks and everything is properly connected.
• Inspect pipes, valves, pumps, and tanks.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent system failures.
• Use HMI screens to monitor pressure, flow, alarms.
• Maintain safe gas/chemical levels and pressures.
• Walk 3–5 miles per day around the plant.
• Follow strict safety rules and wear protective gear.
• Log your shift activities.

Chemical Technician

In simple terms, this job is basically maintaining the chemical supply system that delivers gases and chemicals used to make computer chips at the Samsung Semiconductor factory in Taylor, Texas.

SHIFT TIME: 6-6 am/pm

Day

• Shift A : Sunday to Tuesday every other Wednesday
• Shift C : Thursday to Saturday every other Wednesday

Night

• Shift B : Sunday to Tuesday every other Saturday
• Shift D : Wednesday to Friday every other Saturday

$23 day/ $24 night

What you'd actually do day-to-day

Handling chemical and gas tanks (OUTDOORS in ELEMENTS)

• Replace empty tanks with full ones
• Hook up containers that supply chemicals to the factory machines
• Make sure nothing is leaking and everything is connected properly

Checking and maintaining equipment (OUTDOORS IN ELEMENTS)

• Inspect pipes, valves, pumps, and tanks
• Fix small issues or report bigger problems
• Do routine maintenance so systems don’t fail

Monitoring systems (INDOORS)

• Use computer screens (HMI) to check pressure, flow, alarms, etc.
• Make sure gas/chemical levels and pressures stay within safe ranges

Walking the facility

• Patrol different areas of the plant
• The job description says 3–5 miles per day walking

Safety checks

• Follow strict safety rules (these chemicals can be hazardous)
• Wear protective gear
• Log what you did during the shift
