About the Role

Our client, a leading international chemical solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Chemical Project Engineer for a fully remote position. This role is pivotal in managing and executing capital projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements. You will oversee project planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, working closely with internal teams and external contractors. This is a fully remote opportunity for a results-oriented engineer who excels in project management and thrives in a dynamic, collaborative virtual environment. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of chemical engineering projects, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and monitor progress against these objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, civil) to ensure integrated project design.
• Select and manage vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and adherence to project requirements.
• Oversee site construction and installation activities, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare project reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and logistical issues that arise during project execution.
• Lead project close-out activities, including handover and lessons learned documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project engineering and management within the chemical or process industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI) and tools.
• Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, equipment specifications, and contract management.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively manage remote teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites if required, though the role is primarily remote.
