Job summary

NW Staffing Resources in Forest Grove, OR, is seeking a hands-on Chemical Manufacturing Technician to support purification, QC, and maintenance in a regulated plant. You will work on 12-hour rotating shifts (including weekends) and participate in safety-driven operations.

The role requires at least 2 years in chemical manufacturing, strong PPE and quality systems knowledge, and the ability to use process controls and MS Office. A valid license and forklift experience are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of chemical manufacturing or handling experience; clean room environment a plus.
  • Proficient in chemical handling, PPE compliance, quality systems, and identifying/escalating out-of-specification (OOS) products; able to pass a respirator fit test.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience operating forklifts, using standard production tools, and understanding manufacturing concepts such as production planning, bottleneck management, and time management; trailer-ing experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication and computer skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, use Microsoft Office applications, maintain a valid driver's license, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and self-motivated approach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and ISO standards, and housekeeping requirements, taking corrective action to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and control production processes by recording operating parameters, utilizing process control systems, collecting process samples, and maintaining target operating conditions.
  • Perform quality control inspections, identify and report out-of-spec conditions, and maintain accurate operational documentation.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, perform and verify basic maintenance activities, coordinate with maintenance personnel and vendors, and support equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams during shift handovers, work scheduling, training activities, and emergency response situations to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job description

SCHEDULE: Full-time, Rotating 2-2-3 schedule (At least one working Saturday or Sunday each week), 12:00am-12:00pm, Temp to Hire


WHAT YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE


  • Hands-On Manufacturing Work: Be directly involved in chemical purification processes, sampling, monitoring, and quality control in

  • Technical Skill Development: Gain experience with process control systems, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting, and operational reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
