Job summary
Milliken & Company in Gainesville, FL seeks an engineer to drive chemical manufacturing improvements at the Laurel Plant. You will monitor processes, support scaling lab chemistries to pilot and full scale, and partner with R&D and operations to boost yields, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities include design of experiments, process hazard analyses, change control, and training for safety opportunities, with data-driven decisions and SPC/SQC systems.
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical Engineering required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
- Experience with process improvement and data-driven decisions preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control chemical manufacturing processes for safety and efficiency.
- Design and implement process improvements to increase yields and rates.
- Lead process hazard analyses and change control activities.
- Support scaling lab chemistries to pilot and full-scale production.
- Develop and review production tracking systems; apply SPC/SQC methods.
- Collaborate with R&D, maintenance, and operations to resolve issues.
- Assist sales with technical guidance and customer plant trials.
- Adhere to Milliken quality and safety policies.
