Job summary

Dart Container is seeking a Chemical Process Operator in Leola, PA. The role involves setting up and operating chemical process equipment to produce quality materials, while meeting safety, quality and efficiency KPIs.

You will diagnose issues, run SAP processes, and perform routine maintenance as needed. The ideal candidate has experience with process control, PIT operations, and English proficiency for training and operations communications.

Qualifications

One (1) year experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment or equivalent technical school or apprentice experience.
Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa.
Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures.
Experience operating Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT)
Ability to obtain and maintain PIT certification.
Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

Responsibilities

Follow KPI targets for safety, quality, production, efficiency and service requirements.
Set up, start, adjust, test, diagnose, troubleshoot and properly shut down chemical process equipment in accordance with schedules and specifications.
Operate and control the chemical process of transforming raw material into the finished product, ensuring quality and consistency.
Monitor process area and process equipment.
Make chemical additions as needed.
Test final product to ensure compliance with specifications.
Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and document reports as required.
Notify maintenance of significant deviations from normal operating conditions.
Perform processes in SAP as required.
