Job summary

The Arkema Group seeks a skilled Chemical Process Operator to join our Chester, SC site. You will inspect and operate chemical processing equipment, monitor safety and quality, and support shipping and receiving as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 3+ years in manufacturing (chemicals preferred), and be forklift certified. Proficiency with automated systems and basic computer tasks is expected. This role is on-site, 24/7 readiness possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ manufacturing experience, preferred in chemical manufacturing.
• Basic computer literacy, including email and data entry is required.
• Experience with automated processing systems is preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety inspection of plant and ensures safety of plant operations.
• Operates and monitors automated and manually operated chemical process equipment, including mixing tanks and reactor vessels.
• Move/transfer chemicals and equipment throughout the facility using pallet jacks and forklift trucks.
• Obtain quality control samples of raw materials, semi and finished products for quality control laboratory analysis.
• Assist in shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products; assist in packaging products for shipment.
• Keep accurate monitoring reports/logs and documentation of process events.
• Follow the direction of the shift leaders/supervisors.
• Understand hazards and risks associated with handling chemicals.
