Job summary

USALCO in La Porte, TX seeks a Chemical Operator to safely run plant processes, ensure quality, and uphold safety standards. You will monitor equipment, perform quality checks, and coordinate with supervisors to implement approved improvements.

The role requires a high school diploma, willingness to work overtime and shifts, and the ability to lift heavy materials. Experience in chemical manufacturing and forklift operation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to learn the chemical operator role within 60 days and obtain forklift certification within 30 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the process or processes assigned, including the safe transfer of hazardous chemicals.
• Apply all plant safety rules, work guidelines/practices, and procedures.
• Wear and maintain personal protective equipment required for working with hazardous chemicals.
• Develop and apply improvements in processes, equipment and procedures.
• Complete walk-throughs to audit safety and housekeeping.
• Perform quality assurance checks for manufactured products.
• Adjust formulations to meet specifications.
• Assist in loading trailers with products and unload raw materials as needed.
• Complete certificates of compliance and all batch/run sheets and shift reports.
