Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials is seeking a Chemical Operator to manage manufacturing field operations, board operations, and chemical loading/unloading. The role collaborates with operations, maintenance, leadership, and engineering to meet safety, production, and cost goals.

You will apply documented processes, safely operate chemical processes, and work to improve unit performance while supporting a 24/7 operation in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree required, or score 4+ on Locating Information and Applied Technology.
• Preference for Six Sigma/Lean experience.
• Preference for Process Technology or equivalent technical education.
• Ability to work in a diverse team and demonstrate safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot chemical processes safely.
• Follow safe work practices (LOTO, Confined Space, etc.).
• Prepare equipment for maintenance turnarounds.
• Optimize cost performance and analyze deviations.
• Develop into a process expert and mentor others.
• Meet production goals and address deviations.
• Communicate unit performance to teams and management.
• Maintain housekeeping and hazard recognition.
• Investigate near misses and incidents; address complaints.
• Identify maintenance needs and initiate notifications.
• Participate in A2E Lean/Six Sigma projects.
• Progress through predefined job roles within the group.
