Job summary

Stepan Company is seeking a Chemical Process Engineering Co-Op for its Winder, Georgia facility. You will work on continuous improvement projects, gaining hands-on exposure alongside experienced engineers and operators in a chemical manufacturing plant.

You will support Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives, assist in downtime reduction for the Sulfonation area, and help develop checklists, training, and change management. A strong teamwork focus and safety participation are required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Enrollment at an accredited college or university.
• Spring-term availability for full-time work Feb–Apr.
• Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support 6 Sigma and Kaizen projects for continuous improvement
• Assist Sulfonation area with downtime reduction efforts
• Develop and implement production checklists and work instructions
• Support training development and change management
• Collaborate with cross-functional team
• Participate in safety programs
• Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving
• Participate in process safety management activities and reviews
