Job summary

Thatcher Chemical is seeking a Plant Operator to support Graves Shift operations. You will produce and mix chemicals, operate plant equipment, load and unload tanks and rail cars, and keep the work area safe and clean.

We value safety, reliability, and teamwork. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years minimum experience, background and drug screens, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures. PPE must be worn as required.

Qualifications

• Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safety and safe work practices.
• Be quality conscious.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Stability in work history. Prefer minimum of 2-3 years prior work experience.
• Willing to submit to a background screening.
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language well.
• Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.
• Capacity to work in extreme conditions (temperature) and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Flexibility to work varying hours or shifts if necessary.
• Experience in manufacturing environment including use of tools and equipment is preferred.
• Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) including chemical resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator (if required), chemical splash suit (overalls and jacket).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Produce and mix chemicals as needed

• Load and Unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and all other containers
• Regularly lift 75 pounds
• Operate pumps, mixers, and blenders
• Operate forklift
• Keep work area clean
