Job summary

Thatcher Chemical operates across the nation; a Chemical Mix Operator on the 2nd shift is needed to oversee production, blending, loading and unloading of plant chemicals in a safety-conscious environment.

You will understand and follow plant processes, maintain a clean, safe workplace, and contribute to continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations. Background checks and a pre-employment drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of prior manufacturing work experience.
• Willing to pass background and pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Produce and mix chemicals as needed.
• Operate plant equipment and processes safely.
• Load and unload tanks, rail cars, tankers, and containers.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate pumps, mixers, and blenders.

Chemical Mix Operator-2nd Shift- Pay $22-$24 per hour

This position will be responsible for all production, blending, loading, and unloading of all plant chemicals. The plant operator will need to understand and operate all plant processes and procedures, while keeping a safe and clean working environment.

Major Accountabilities

• Produce and mix chemicals as needed
• Understand and operate plant equipment and processes
• Load and unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and all other containers
• Regularly lift 75 pounds
• Operate pumps, mixers, and blenders
• Operate forklift
• Keep work area clean
• Light maintenance

Shift: Swing 3pm-11:30pm M-F

Basic qualifications include:

• Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safety and safe work practices.
• Be quality conscious.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Stability in work history. Prefer a minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience.
• Willing to submit to a background screening.
• Willing to submit to apre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language well. This is a safety as well as an operational issue.
• Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.
• Capacity to work in extreme conditions (temperature) and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Flexibility to work varying hours or shiftsif necessary.
• Experience in manufacturing environment including use of tools and equipment is preferred.
• Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) including chemical resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator (if required), chemical splash suit (overalls and jacket).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
