Job summary

Arkema Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Chemical Plant Operator for 12-hour shifts (3 days on, 3 days off) 6am–6pm or 6pm–6am.

You will oversee batch manufacturing, loading, unloading, and packaging of specialty chemical resins, while monitoring process parameters and maintaining a safe, orderly work area. The role emphasizes HSEQ compliance, teamwork, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to work independently.
• Able to climb ladders, work outside in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs and wear PPE including full-face respirator.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, packaging and distribution of specialty chemical resins.
• Charge raw materials, process batches, monitor and record parameters.
• Troubleshoot and support plant operations; load/unload, clean equipment, housekeeping.
• Operate forklifts and follow operating procedures for tasks.
• Communicate with Production Team Lead and maintain safety standards.
