Job summary

Entegris, Inc. in Riegelwood, NC seeks several Chemical Operator II professionals for a temporary role through January 2027. You will work in a low-volume manufacturing environment, sampling materials, packaging finished goods, and maintaining equipment.

You must meet education/experience requirements and be able to lift 50 lbs and wear a full-face respirator. Responsibilities include operating pumps and valves, transferring materials, following batch instructions, and keeping detailed process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemistry or AS with chemistry experience preferred; 2+ years as chemical operator.
• Ability to wear full-face respirator and perform heavy lifting (50 lbs. minimum).
• Ability to stand, walk, climb and perform other physically demanding duties.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to learn from feedback and take direction to improve.
• Own commitments and complete tasks with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Operate pumps, valves and other equipment to complete production safely.
• Transfer raw materials from storage to reaction vessels and record materials used.
• Follow written batch production instructions.
• Maintain records of temperature, pressure, weights, lot numbers and deviations.
• Perform minor routine maintenance.
• Operate a forklift.
• Sample in-process reactions safely.
• Learn basic chemical practices including distillation, washes, extractions and filtrations.
• Interact with coworkers and supervisors regarding improvements.
• Other tasks as requested by management.

Job Description

The Role: Our site in Riegelwood, NC is seeking several Chemical Operator II professionals to join our team in this temporary role. In this role, you will be working in a low volume manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to sampling raw materials, packaging finished goods for shipment, and maintain the equipment possibly through January 2027.

What You’ll Do

• Operate pumps, valves, and other miscellaneous equipment as required to complete the production process in a safe manner that protects both personnel and equipment
• Independently transfer raw materials from storage containers to reaction vessels while maintaining an accurate record of materials used in the production of product
• Follow written work instructions for batch production
• Maintain accurate records of all significant information regarding the process including temperature, pressure, weights, lot numbers, and deviations
• Perform minor routine maintenance as required
• Operate a forklift
• Sample in-process reactions in a safe manner
• Develop a good working knowledge of basic chemical practice including distillation (vacuum & atmospheric), washes, extractions and filtrations
• Interact well with coworkers and supervisors regarding concerns and potential process and/or safety improvements
• Other functions as requested by management

What We Seek

• Bachelor's in Chemistry or Associate Science with chemistry experience preferred, and/or 2+ years of experience as a chemical operator
• Requires ability to wear full-face respirator and heavy lifting (50 lbs. minimum)
• Have the ability to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally perform other physically demanding duties
• Valid driver’s license
• Brings an attitude of willingness to learn new tasks and listen to others to foster personal growth
• Open to feedback and direction and actively attempts to learn from mistakes to better future outcomes
• Owns commitments and completes tasks as assigned, taking accountability for their actions and the projects assigned to them

Outstanding Candidates Will Have

• Proficiency with computers. i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet, etc.
• Proficiency in simple Algebra
• Proficiency in multi-tasking
• Teamwork & accountability

Contract compensation: $25 per hour without benefits
