Job summary

Chemtrade is seeking a Chemical Operator to run the assigned plant safely, efficiently and in accordance with ES&H policies. The role requires a valid Ohio Stationary Engineer's License and several years of maintenance experience, with a Monday–Friday shift across 4am–12pm or 12pm–8pm.

Starting hourly rate is $25–$26 plus benefits, with overtime possible. Reports to the Plant Manager and participates in safety meetings, process control, acid transfers, and general plant duties to ensure reliable

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent education preferred.
• Must obtain in the time required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement a State of Ohio Stationary Engineer's License.
• Four years of general maintenance and repair experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Ability to communicate with courtesy and tact when furnishing or obtaining information from both fellow workers, supervisors and other departments.
• Must have an understanding of units of measure and weight and perform conversions. Good math and diagnostic skills to detect and evaluate critical situations.
• Works under direction and follows established procedures on most duties. Makes some decisions but refers most problems to Supervisor.
• Computer Skills - Windows Operating System and MS Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel Plant Distributed Control System (DCS) for plant operations.
• Must possess excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of OSHA safety Must possess the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned plant in a safe, lawful and efficient manner.
• Report all equipment problems so they can be addressed.
• Perform maintenance as to abilities, normally during shut downs.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
