PPG Industries, Inc. is hiring a Chemical Operator for the Atlanta, GA area on the 1st shift. Starting pay is $25.68 per hour.

The role involves setting up, filling, mixing and delivering production chemicals with strict attention to chemical composition and safety practices. This position supports timely, high-quality product delivery to customers. Responsibilities include following work orders after training, handling waste chemicals per Haz Com testing, basic TPM on equipment, and assisting

Qualifications

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
Must be able to be certified/pass medical test to wear a respirator.
Must be able to pass basic math test.
Must be able to be certified as a forklift driver.
Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Setting up, filling, mixing and/or delivering production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important.
Reads and comprehends from written and verbal instructions on work orders (after trained).
Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids per Haz Com training requirements.
Performs basic maintenance (TPM) of production equipment and cleans pots and tanks for production.
May be required to assist in chemical spills.
