Avtec Finishing seeks a Chemical Maintenance technician for 1st shift in New Hope, MN. This is a hands-on shop-floor role requiring chemical handling, maintaining production tanks, and safe operation of a forklift.

You will follow lab guidance and established procedures to add chemicals, read safety data sheets, and keep records. A chemistry background or related experience is helpful, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous waste or industrial chemical handling.
• Ability to follow procedures and avoid shortcuts.
• Comfort around industrial chemicals with safety practices.
• Basic chemistry knowledge or degree welcomed.
• Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
• Willing to operate forklift and complete training.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work full shift.
• Able to perform physical shop work.

Responsabilités

• Make chemical additions to production tanks based on lab results.
• Verify correct chemical, tank, and quantity before adding.
• Operate a forklift to move chemical drums.
• Follow chemical-handling, storage, labeling, and waste procedures.
• Read and follow work instructions and Safety Data Sheets.
• Complete required records accurately.
• Keep storage and work areas clean and organized.
• Communicate needs with lab and production teams.
• Ask for guidance when unclear.
