Job summary

NEXPERA is hiring a Chemical Loader for its North Bend, OH site. The role focuses on safe loading/unloading of sulfuric acid products, routine equipment inspections, and documentation accuracy in a busy process facility.

The position requires operating forklifts and other mobile equipment, adhering to all safety policies, and supporting plant operations across loading areas, tank farms, and process units.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); ability to learn new systems.
• Ability and willingness to maintain a valid driver’s license and obtain certification to operate powered industrial trucks.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload chemical products from railcars, tank trucks, totes, and storage vessels in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform routine inspections of loading equipment, transfer systems, hoses, valves, and connections to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, manlifts, yard trucks, and trackmobiles, in compliance with site safety requirements.
• Verify shipping documentation, complete loading records, maintain inventory transactions, and support daily shipping and receiving activities.
• Monitor loading and transfer operations to ensure product quality, accurate quantities, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Conduct pre-loading and post-loading inspections of equipment, vehicles, and containment systems.
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies, including PPE requirements, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
• Identify, report, and respond to abnormal operating conditions, spills, leaks, or safety concerns to protect personnel, the environment, and surrounding communities.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance by isolating systems, draining lines, and performing lockout/tagout activities as required.
• Assist with plant operations and material transfers while coordinating closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics teams.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collect product samples and perform basic quality checks or laboratory testing as required.
• Support startup, shutdown, and operational activities related to loading and storage systems.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and mentor new team members on loading procedures, safety requirements, and environmental compliance standards as qualified.
