Job summary

Pioneer Circuits in California is seeking a Chemical Lab Operator to analyze chemical concentrations across processes, run ionic contamination tests, and perform XRF testing to ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions. Prepare testing samples, record results, and coordinate with the Manager and Process Engineer as needed.

The role is second shift (4:00pm–12:30am) with first-shift training (7:30am–4:00pm).

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a PCB manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of chemical laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review SOPs and work instructions to ensure specifications.
  • Perform Ionic contamination testing.
  • Perform X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) testing.
  • Prepare testing samples and perform analytical testing per Truechem schedule.
  • Record results and maintain PAL, log, and test data; consult with Manager/Process Engineer as needed.
  • Conduct routine Chemical PMs, manage baths and reagents per instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of chemicals and lab supplies; clean equipment.
  • Assist Wastewater Treatment Department when needed.
  • Other duties as required.

About the Opportunity

The Chemical Lab Operator analyzes the chemical concentration of all chemical processes, using laboratory instruments and equipment, to ensure that all jobs are processed in accordance with work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

Please Note: The available work schedule consists of second-shift hours (4:00pm - 12:30am); however, training will take place during the first shift (7:30am - 4:00pm)

What You'll Do:
  • Review and become familiar with SOPs, work instructions, and follow Manager’s direction to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform Ionic contamination testing.
  • Perform X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) testing.
  • Prepare testing samples and perform analytical testing to check chemical concentration based on Truechem schedule.
  • Record and maintain PAL, Log, and test results. Review lab results and consult with the Manager and Process Engineer if any addition, new make-up, or bailout is needed.
  • Perform routine scheduled Chemical PMs which include the removal of spent baths, spent rinse water baths and the makeup of fresh baths (per instructions) and rinse baths.
  • Keep inventory of chemicals and all other laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Assist Wastewater Treatment Department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
What You'll Bring:
  • Ability to read, communicate and understand documents such as Travelers, standard operating procedure, instructions, and safety rules in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft office
  • Must be detailed oriented and self-motivated
  • Must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) (Required)
  • Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of chemical laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)

Please note that in addition to frequent standing and walking, the work environment requires lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 25 pounds, and frequent twisting/turning and reaching outward.

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 2nd Shift (4:00pm - 12:30am)
  • Overtime and Weekends as needed
  • Please Note: Successful candidate must be available to train during 1st Shift (7:30am to 4:00PM)

Job Type: Full-time

California Pay Range: $18 USD - $20 USD

The actual compensation offered is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
