Job summary

Orange County Water District seeks a Materials and Chemical Management Technician to support the Water Production Group by maintaining chemical inventories and assisting plant chemical treatment processes.

The role involves semi-skilled tasks, inventory updates, chemical unloading with PPE, and maintaining records. A High School Diploma or GED plus forklift certification is required; California driver’s license preferred. Schedule is Mon–Fri 7:00 am–3:30 pm, on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Forklift Certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Strong emphasis on safe chemical handling and inventory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Order and receive chemicals to support plant operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and pick up materials as needed.
• Update inventory and computer records for chemical usage.
• Unload chemicals at facilities, following PPE procedures.
• Maintain invoice documentation for chemicals ordered or received.
• Operate forklift and maintain PPE as assigned.
