Job summary

Honeywell LNG is seeking a Chemical Engineering Manager to lead a portion of the LNG Process Engineering team in Allentown, PA on a hybrid schedule. You will guide design, development, and implementation of LNG process technologies and engineered solutions, while providing technical leadership across studies and projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of process simulation and engineering software.
  • Experience supporting customers, EPC contractors, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portion of the LNG Process Engineering organization, including setting goals and priorities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and career development for process engineers.
  • Support business development activities, feasibility studies, FEED projects, proposals, and customer engagements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop competitive LNG offerings.
  • Develop resource plans, forecast workload, allocate resources, and monitor utilization.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, EPC contractors, and stakeholders as a technical advisor.
  • Support IP development and patent reviews as applicable.
  • Stay current with LNG market trends and technology developments.
  • Travel 10–15% domestically and internationally.

Job Summary

As a Chemical Engineering Manager at Honeywell LNG, you will lead and manage a portion of the process engineering team. You will oversee the design, development, and implementation of LNG process technologies, chemical processes, and engineered solutions. You will also provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to ensure successful execution of studies, proposals, projects, technology initiatives, and customer engagements. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive product development, technology advancement, process optimization, and continuous improvement.

You will report directly to the Senior Chemical Engineering Manager and work out of our Allentown, PA location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role you will drive technical excellence, process innovation, operational efficiency, process safety leadership, and customer‑focused solutions in LNG Process Technology. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to business growth, customer satisfaction, competitive differentiation, and the successful commercialization of Honeywell LNG technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a portion of the LNG Process Engineering organization, including setting goals, defining priorities, and aligning technical execution with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development for process engineers to strengthen technical capabilities and support succession planning.
  • Support business development activities, feasibility studies, FEED projects, proposals, customer presentations, and project execution efforts.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Projects, Proposals, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams to develop competitive and differentiated LNG offerings.
  • Develop resource plans, forecast workload demand, allocate engineering resources, and monitor utilization to support business and project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, EPC contractors, and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted technical advisor and representative of Honeywell LNG technology.
  • Support intellectual property development by identifying innovative concepts, protecting proprietary technologies, and contributing to patent reviews and filings where applicable.
  • Stay current with market trends, industry developments, emerging LNG technologies, sustainability initiatives, and competitive offerings.
  • Domestic and international travel to client offices, contractor locations, and plant sites is expected approximately 10–15% of the time.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of experience in chemical, process, or LNG engineering.
  • Proven leadership and people‑management experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in process engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of process simulation and engineering software.
  • Experience supporting customers, EPC contractors, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Desired (Preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in LNG liquefaction, cryogenic technologies, hydrocarbon processing, or chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced degree (MS, ME, or PhD) in Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in resource planning, workload forecasting, and engineering organization management.
  • Experience with process technology development, commercialization, and product improvement initiatives.
  • Experience developing engineering standards, procedures, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with intellectual property development, patent awareness, or technology protection strategies.
  • Proven ability to influence customers, EPCs, and senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation, operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant optimization activities.
