Job summary

Chemtrade in Cairo, OH is seeking a Chemical Engineering Co-op to support the engineering team at the Cairo plant. The role focuses on plant reliability, safety, process improvements, documentation, and small project management, with lab coverage as needed.

The candidate should be a 2nd or 3rd year chemical engineering student with a minimum GPA of 3.0, able to complete two rotations, and possessing good organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2nd/3rd year chemical engineering student.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0.
• Duration: must be available to complete 2 rotations.
• Proficient in all areas of engineering and related software, with strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand, uphold, and improve the Chemtrade safety culture.
• Collect plant process data and prepare material balances.
• Provide technical information to engineering, operations and maintenance as requested.
• Assist in initiating plant investigations related to proposed changes in the process.
• Assist the process engineer with quarterly flow RATAs.
• Input and reorganize information related to Infor and plant equipment files.
• P&ID updates.
• Quality Control Lab coverage.
• Establish and sustain process safety information.
• Assist with maintenance and CAPEX projects.
• Assist with ECP generation and revision.
• Assist with operation procedure generation and revision.
• Assist with JSA generation and revision.
• Line labeling and equipment tagging.
• Perform other duties with minimal risk as assigned.
