Job summary

Cewhite? Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support the Polymers Operations at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV. The role involves troubleshooting, process improvement, and capital projects to improve yield, uptime, and safety.

The candidate will participate in incident investigations, PHAs, and provide environmental support. PPE is required and travel is minimal. A BS in Chemical Engineering and 2+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of equipment used in a chemical plant: pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willing and able to wear PPE: steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators.
• Two years or more of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Chemical Engineering resource for the Polymers Operations at Washington Works.
• Lead/participate in incident investigations and Process Hazards Analyses (PHA).
• Lead capital projects for improvements and support for day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Provide environmental support and support for procedures and safety programs.
• Travel less than 10% as needed.
