Washington Works in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a Process Engineer for Polymers Operations to support Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams, with a focus on troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Qualifications include a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a process background and 5+ years in chemical manufacturing; strong communication skills and PPE readiness are required. Travel is <10%.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a process background.
  • Five or more years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of typical chemical plant equipment (pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.).

Job Overview

Process Engineer - Polymers Operations at Washington Works, Parkersburg, WV. Report to the Polymers Manufacturing Technology Manager. Supports engineering guidance for Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams; focuses on troubleshooting, continuous improvement, safety, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day‑to‑day troubleshooting and incident investigations.
  • Lead and participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) activities.
  • Lead capital projects for process improvement and new capital installations.

  • Travel requirements less than 10%.
Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of experience in a chemical manufacturing process.
  • Experience leading or participating in Process Hazards Analyses.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
