Job summary
Redwood Materials in Reno, NV is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support battery recycling operations, improve processes, and help develop new plants. You will work with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable processes, and assist with testwork and pilot plant activities.
The role requires a BS or MS in Chemical Engineering (or related field) and 3–5 years in chemical plant operations or design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of experience in Chemical Plant Operations and/or Design and Commissioning
- Experience with testwork and pilot plant design and operation
- Process modelling experience with HSCSIM, SysCAD or METSIM
Responsibilities
- Work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, sustainable processes
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement new process plant and equipment
- Testwork and pilot plant design and operation
- Flowsheet conceptualization and development
- Flowsheet trade-off evaluations and studies
- Process plant implementation and installation assistance
- Process plant commissioning and ramp-up
