We are looking for a Chemical Engineering Expert to review, validate, and refine prompt-based chemistry questions designed to train AI tutors. Your expertise in thermodynamics, reaction engineering, transport phenomena, and process design will help ensure the accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical value of each question and its associated AI-generated response.

- Evaluate existing prompts and AI-generated responses for accuracy, completeness, and teaching value.

- Tag each prompt with relevant metadata (e.g., topic area, difficulty, type of question).

- Write or revise tutor-style responses that reflect how an expert educator would explain the concept.

Conceptual & Numerical Verification:

- Solve and verify the underlying chemical engineering problems to confirm that AI responses are correct.

- Distinguish between correct and partially correct reasoning, ensuring sound chemical principles are applied.

- Review case-based prompts (e.g., reactor design optimization, distillation column efficiency, membrane separation issues) for relevance to real-world chemical engineering problems.

Research & Cross-Checking:

- Reference authoritative sources like Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, academic journals, and AIChE guidelines to ensure technical precision and alignment with undergraduate curricula.

Structured Feedback:

- Provide clear, structured feedback with explanations to help improve prompt and response quality.

- Emphasize clarity, rigor, and educational value in line with instructional best practices.

Quality Monitoring:

- Ensure each prompt-response pair effectively tests domain knowledge, problem-solving, and reasoning across core areas of chemical engineering.

Ideal Qualifications:

- Deep Knowledge in Chemical Engineering: Strong foundation in mass and energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat/mass transfer, kinetics, and reactor design.

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex problems and identify subtle flaws in reasoning or assumptions.

- Strong Communication Skills: Capable of writing clear, engaging explanations suited for undergraduate students.

- Attention to Detail: Skilled in spotting technical inaccuracies, ambiguous wording, or misapplied concepts.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.

- 2+ years of experience in chemical engineering education, industry, or research.

- Proficiency with simulation or modeling tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB, COMSOL) is a plus.

- Experience writing technical content, educational material, or scientific reports.

- Remote and asynchronous work — set your own hours.

- ~20 hours of work over a one-week period.

- Must be based in the U.S. or Canada.

- Clear expectations and structured workflow provided.
