Salish Kootenai College is seeking a faculty member to teach social work courses and oversee the field education component of BSW requirements. The role includes coordinating departmental activities, maintaining records, and developing course content, syllabi, and field assessment instruments.
Responsibilities also include teaching, student advising, mentoring, preparing schedules and catalog sections, and producing assessment reports; supporting committee work within the college.
General Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach social work courses and to provide oversight of the field education component of BSW requirements. In summary, this includes coordination of departmental activities; accreditation standards; maintenance of departmental records; development of course content, syllabi, and field assessment instruments, teaching, student advising, and mentoring; preparation of schedules, catalog sections, and assessment reports; support activities and committees for the college.
Minimum Qualifications: MSW degree (or ability to complete within two years from date of hire) from an accredited college or university. Experience in professional writing and oral presentations. Experience working with Native American populations. Proficient in PowerPoint and MS Office applications. Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with faculty, staff and both internal and external stakeholders.
